In a recent press release, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy expressed his gratitude for Kevin McCarthy's service to the Republican Conference and the American people. McCarthy commended McCarthy for his achievements, including winning back the majority and negotiating a historic deficit reduction plan.

However, McCarthy also highlighted a setback for House Republicans. "Unfortunately, eight Republicans teamed up with every Democrat to vacate the Speakership," McCarthy stated. This development necessitates the urgent need for House Republicans to elect a capable leader who will champion the conservative agenda that Americans entrusted them to enact.

McCarthy emphasized the crucial role House Republicans play as the only check on the Biden White House and the Democrat-controlled Senate. He stressed the importance of unity and a deliberate approach in choosing a new leader to ensure effective governance and advance conservative policies.

The selection of a new Speaker is not just a matter of leadership transition; it has significant implications for ongoing House investigations. McCarthy pointed out that these investigations, including an impeachment inquiry and inquiries into the origins of COVID-19 and the government's pandemic response, are essentially halted until a new Speaker is elected.

Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, McCarthy voiced his concern over the potential indefinite halt of these vital investigations. "I refuse to see these important investigations, that we are finally conducting, grind to an indefinite halt," he asserted.

As House Republicans begin the process of electing a new leader, the focus remains on finding a proven advocate for conservative principles who will uphold the party's agenda and ensure accountability within the Biden Administration.
