Earlier today, at a Special Board Meeting, the Milford Schools Board of Education voted to appoint John Espy as the district’s next Treasurer. Mr. Espy started his career at Milford Schools as the Music Director, and completed part of his Treasurer Internship at Milford Schools. He is currently the Treasurer of Miamisburg City Schools and, in this position, received the Auditor of State with Distinction Award. Prior to this role, Mr. Espy served as the Treasurer of Clermont Northeastern Local School District. He and his family reside in Loveland, Ohio.
Board President Dave Meranda said, “We are excited to have Mr. Espy join Milford Schools in the critical role of Treasurer. We are confident that he will continue our historically strong and responsible fiscal management and lead all financial aspects of our district. We’re excited to welcome him to Milford.”
Vice President Emily Chesnut, who led the search on behalf of the board added, “Following a thorough search process that included several strong applicants from across the State of Ohio, which was facilitated by an independent firm, I am pleased that we have hired the best Treasurer for Milford Schools." Mrs. Chesnut continued, "In our interview process and through talking to his references, it was clear Mr. Espy is a life-long learner. He is always looking to grow and learn additional information, both through formal education and committees and boards. He is also great at sharing information in new ways for new audiences and I look forward to the community learning from him as well. Welcome!”
John Espy shared, “It is often said that Milford is a destination district and I’m glad this is my destination.”
Mr. Espy’s will start with Milford Schools in January 2023. In the meantime, Rob Giuffre will act as Interim Treasurer.
