State Rep. Adam Bird | The Ohio House of Representatives
The Ohio House of Representatives passed Substitute House Bill 2 today, marking the approval of the state’s two-year construction budget for capital projects. State Representative Adam Bird (R-New Richmond) announced that the Capital Budget will allocate significant funds to local community projects in Clermont County.
Bird secured several capital investments aimed at enhancing community infrastructure and amenities:
- $248,000 for new pickleball courts at Miami Riverview Park.
- $150,000 for a skilled trades center at Camp Friedlander.
- $139,919 for improvements to Batavia Township Park.
- $46,706 for replacing doors and windows in the Grant Memorial building.
“We are continuing to move our communities forward by investing in our state and local economy,” said Bird. “Securing these investments will ensure our future remains bright.”
In addition to these local investments, Substitute House Bill 2 includes substantial statewide allocations:
- $600 million for the School Building Program Assistance Fund.
- $400 million for the Public Works Commission Local Public Infrastructure and State Capital Improvement Program.
- $397.6 million for higher education projects across Ohio.
The bill now awaits the Governor's signature.
