This is a full-time, classified position.
The Docket Clerk works cooperatively with the Judge, Court staff, attorneys, litigants, witnesses and other visitors to the Court and provides support for the efficient operation of the Court. Duties include:
• Schedules hearing dates and inputs the information into the case management system.
• Accepts and processes filings, collecting information and preparing the appropriate paperwork.
• Processes cases in an accurate and timely manner including verifying the accuracy of information provided and preparing the case file for court.
• Prepares dockets for assigned magistrates. Processes paperwork resulting from hearings in an efficient and timely manner.
• Files cases and documents in the appropriate locations.
• Verifies and provides the appropriate dates to an attorney’s office and public.
• Answers phone providing accurate legal information, not legal advice, to all inquiries.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by the Court Administrator.
The Docket Clerk must be able to effectively operate a computer, printer, telephone, copier, fax machine and other general office equipment. The position also requires the ability to communicate orally, perform work in an accurate, neat and timely manner, and establish positive relationships with all Court personnel. Knowledge of the judicial system and familiarity with Courtview case management system and Microsoft Outlook a plus.
Hours: 35 hours a week 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday- Friday
Salary: Up to $20.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
