6

City of Loveland recently issued the following announcement.

A new Assistant City Manager was sworn in by Mayor Kathy Bailey at the March 22 City Council meeting.

Cory Wright comes to the City of Loveland from Union Township (Ohio), where he was serving as  Interim Township Administrator in 2022. He began his tenure with the township in 2006 as its Planning Director and was promoted to the role of Assistant Township Administrator in 2008. During this time, the township experienced significant growth; he also retained the title of Planning & Zoning Director and held the position of Executive Director for the Township Community Improvement Corporation

“Cory’s skillset will be well utilized within the city. I think he is someone who will serve the city well,” said David Kennedy, City of Loveland Manager.

Kennedy went on to reference how Wright’s skills will be an asset to future projects like the revitalization of the Loveland-Madeira Road Corridor, building upon the success of the city’s Commerce Park, and moving forward with the Comprehensive Master Plan.

Prior to his experience at Union Township, Wright worked for the Clermont County Planning Department as a Community Planner. In this role, he managed the entire subdivision review process for the county, which included plan review; preparation and presentation of reports to the Planning Commission; the coordination of agency reviews; processing minor lot splits; reviewing zoning cases, and making recommendations to the Planning Commission.

Wright holds an undergraduate degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where he studied philosophy and political economy. Additionally, he attended the University of Cincinnati School of Planning as a candidate in the Masters of Community Planning Program through the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. He is an AICP-Certified Planner, credentialed through the American Planning Association.

He resides in Miami Township with his wife of 13 years and two children. When not traveling to kids’ soccer events, they enjoy visiting Downtown Loveland to ride the Bike Trail and be outdoors.

“It is an honor and privilege for me to join the City of Loveland,” stated Wright. “I’m really excited for the opportunity.”
