FOIA Request to Clermont County Regarding Freedom of Information Act Logs on October 7, 2024.
As a part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at the Clermont Times have submitted a request for public records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq. The request was sent to Clermont County on October 7, 2024.
Our request specifically seeks access to the county's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) logs from January 1, 2024, through October 7, 2024. We have asked for these records in electronic format for ease of review and analysis.
The requested information includes the following fields: Requester Name, Requester Organization, Request Content, Request Date, Request Complete Date, and FOIA Status. This comprehensive data will allow us to gain insight into the types of information being sought by other organizations and individuals and how the county is responding to these requests.
As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to these public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional given our role in disseminating information. We are hopeful that Clermont County will acknowledge this role and provide us with the requested information without charge.
We look forward to sharing this important information with our readers once it becomes available.
