Washington, D.C. - The House GOP Doctors Caucus, comprising 83 Republican House Members, has sent a letter to House leadership urging their support in addressing the impending Medicare payment cuts to healthcare providers. The letter emphasizes the need for both short and long-term solutions to prevent the consequences of these cuts. The members express concern that the reductions in Medicare payments will lead to hiring freezes, elimination of services provided to seniors, and decreased patient access to healthcare services.

The GOP Doctors Caucus acknowledges the efforts of Congress in the past to alleviate cuts for providers, but they emphasize the need for immediate action before the end of the year to address these looming cuts. The caucus members, serving as co-chairs, recognize the significant reliance of healthcare providers, particularly those in rural and underserved communities, on Medicare payments to sustain their operations. They are committed to responsibly addressing these payment cuts and look forward to working on a long-term solution in the next Congress.

The letter, in its entirety, can be read here. Alongside the letter, more than 160 national and state medical and healthcare organizations are also supporting Congressional action to halt the Medicare payment cuts. Notable organizations include the American Medical Association, the American Medical Group Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Health Care Association.

The letter was signed by numerous Republican House Members, including Representatives Brad Wenstrup, Michael Burgess, Andy Harris, Greg Murphy, Diana Harshbarger, Buddy Carter, Neal Dunn, Jefferson Van Drew, Mike Simpson, Brian Babin, Drew Ferguson, Ronny Jackson, Larry Bucshon, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, John Joyce, Paul Gosar, Mark Green, Scott DesJarlais, Clay Higgins, Dan Crenshaw, Randy Feenstra, Ron Estes, Mike Bost, Bill Johnson, John Rose, Jaime Herrera Beutler, Greg Pence, Fred Upton, Sam Graves, Blaine Luetkemeyer, John Carter, Glenn Thompson, Julia Letlow, Nicole Malliotakis, Michelle Steel, Jack Bergman, Stephanie Bice, Dan Meuser, Richard Hudson, Lance Gooden, Mark Amodei, Kat Cammack, Guy Reschenthaler, Troy Balderson, Gus Bilirakis, Jay Obernolte, Mayra Flores, Debbie Lesko, Bob Latta, Tom Emmer, Kelly Armstrong, Dave Kustoff, Rick Allen, Mary Miller, Austin Scott, Lloyd Smucker, Jake LaTurner, Michael Guest, Pat Fallon, David Valadao, John Rutherford, Tim Walberg, Cliff Bentz, Andrew Garbarino, Rick Crawford, John Moolenaar, Jenniffer Gonzalez Colon, Brian Fitzpatrick, Tim Burchett, Chuck Fleischmann, David McKinley, Bill Posey, Chris Smith, Mike Carey, Pete Sessions, and Doug Lamborn.
