Washington, D.C. - The GOP Doctors Caucus has expressed its support for the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act of 2023. The legislation, which aims to address persistent cuts to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, has gained traction after being favorably reported by the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health.

In a statement, the Co-Chairs of the GOP Doctors Caucus highlighted the impact of these cuts on independent physicians, small businesses, and patients in rural areas. They emphasized that outdated policies and incorrect methodologies have led to reduced reimbursements for physicians providing care to Medicare-insured patients. The cuts, coupled with increasing inflation, further burden the cost of care.

To address these challenges and ensure expanded access to care, the GOP Doctors Caucus has proposed the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act. This legislation has garnered broad, bipartisan support in Congress. The Caucus intends to advocate for the bill in the Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Committees, with the goal of passing it through the House of Representatives.

The GOP Doctors Caucus has received appreciation and gratitude from more than 100 national medical organizations and state medical societies for their efforts in reforming budget-neutrality policies. These organizations recognize the importance of stabilizing provider reimbursements and ensuring access to quality healthcare for all beneficiaries.

The Provider Reimbursement Stability Act is seen as a common-sense solution to address the challenges faced by physicians and patients alike. With bipartisan support and the backing of numerous medical organizations, there is hope for meaningful reform in the healthcare system.

As discussions continue in Congress, the GOP Doctors Caucus remains committed to advocating for the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act and ensuring that physicians can continue to provide essential care to their patients without undue financial strain.
