The Clermont County Law Library is searching for a customer service-focused Part Time Library Clerk for approximately 15 hours per week to start. A professional and friendly attitude is required.
LIBRARY CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION:
Staffs circulation desk; checks out books and processes returned material, sends overdue notices, shelves books and maintains the stacks, records and catalogs newly acquired materials. Processes copy bills. Assists patrons with ready reference and use of any office equipment. Fills copier, printers, fax with paper and toner as necessary. Files looseleaf material and pocket parts. Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies. Answers phones and library emails. Processes regular mail. Provides notarial services (if not currently a notary, the law library will pay for you to obtain). Assists with projects and other duties that may arise.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES:
The preferred candidate would be detail oriented and have excellent organization skills and a willingness to learn; a working knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment applied to library clerical work; working knowledge of library filing and shelving rules a plus; ability to make simple arithmetic calculations accurately; good oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively use computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, WORD, etc.; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, library patrons and the general public; basic working knowledge of computers and the internet; and have a physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Prior library/office experience and/or paralegal training preferred. Must have or obtain a notary commission (paid by employer) within 90 days.
