Apply for Loveland U

86

Loveland U is back for 2022, and space is limited for this popular program that gives participants a “behind the scenes” look at the city!

Loveland U consists of 10 “class” sessions held weekly Sept. 7 – Nov. 9. Each weekly session is hands-on with minimal lecture time. Participants will obtain knowledge and provide feedback about issues, plans and activities of the Loveland community. For instance, one session covers property rights versus community good, and participants are challenged to review a case study.

The following is a tentative session list (subject to change):

  • Restoring Loveland’s Front Porch - Loveland Museum Center
  • Our River & Navigating Development – Little Miami Conservancy
  • Community Planning – Loveland Planning & Zoning Dept.
  • Feeling the Heat – Loveland-Symmes Fire Dept.
  • Behind the Badge – Loveland Police Dept.
  • A Peek Behind the Curtain – Loveland Stage Company
  • Mock City Council Meeting
  • Portrait of a Tiger – Loveland City Schools
  • Rocking to the Rhythm - Loveland Public Works
  • Loveland U Graduation
“Whether you are a newcomer or have lived here many years, Loveland U offers a perspective on the city’s structure and local organizations,” said Mayor Kathy Bailey. “City Council is committed to finding ways to help our residents understand the decisions we make, become more involved, and connect with the community. This program accomplishes all those goals and more.”

Applicants must live or work in the City of Loveland, or be a member of a civic organization based in Loveland. Enrollment will be capped at 25 participants. Enrollment applications can be completed online and are due by June 1.
