Clermont County, Ohio- Government issued the following announcement on Dec. 05.
Day 6 -- Union Township Fire/EMS (UTFD) (see below)
During 2020 Appreciation Week in Clermont County, the Clermont County Mental Health and Recovery Board (CCMHRB) together with the Clermont Opiate Task Force (OTF) would like to acknowledge those that have gone above and beyond in the fight against the opioid epidemic. Without your partnership, Clermont County could not have seen the 43% decrease in opioid related unintentional overdoses in the past several years. THANK YOU!
Union Township Fire/EMS (UTFD) is actively working to decrease the number of overdoses and overdose deaths and provides an avenue for individuals to connect to needed substance use disorder treatment. Under the leadership of Chief Stan Deimling, UTFD has partnered with the CCMHRB and Clermont Recovery Center (CRC) to sustain the Quick Response Team (QRT) in Union Township. The QRT, which includes UTFD paramedics and CRC Recovery Coaches, provides weekly outreach to individuals in Union Township that have survived an overdose. UTFD has also partnered with the OTF to implement outreach strategies to give out free Naloxone kits in ‘high risk areas’ where repeat overdoses are occurring. The CCMHRB and the OTF thank UTFD for their continued commitment to our County and for providing exceptional services to the residents of Union Township.
