Washington, D.C. - Congressman Brad Wenstrup expressed his support for the bipartisan Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, which recently passed in Congress. In a statement, Wenstrup highlighted the importance of providing much-needed relief to hard-working Ohio families.

Wenstrup emphasized the extension of critical provisions from President Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) as a means to foster economic growth and address challenges faced by the American economy, particularly from countries like China. He noted the positive impact of the TCJA, which resulted in the fastest wage growth in a decade, the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years, and no corporate inversions.

The Congressman underscored the significance of extending these provisions to assist Ohioans who are grappling with record-high inflation. He believes that boosting productivity and wages will help alleviate the financial burden faced by many families in the state.

"We must make America the best place to do business and incentivize more manufacturing here at home," Wenstrup stated. He called for the reshoring of manufacturing of products crucial to national security and health security. The TCJA played a vital role in making the U.S. tax code globally competitive, and the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act aims to build upon this progress and propel the economy forward.

Wenstrup also highlighted the legislation's support for working families. He praised the inclusion of pro-life, pro-family updates to the child tax credit, which are designed to support growing families and encourage work. Additionally, he championed provisions aimed at addressing the housing shortage faced by working families in Ohio. The legislation aims to finance the construction of approximately 200,000 new and affordable housing units for these families.

In summary, Congressman Brad Wenstrup believes that the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act will provide much-needed relief to hard-working Ohio families. He sees the extension of critical provisions from the TCJA as a way to foster economic growth, address challenges from countries like China, and help Ohioans facing record-high inflation. The legislation also includes important updates to the child tax credit and provisions to address the housing shortage working families in Ohio are experiencing.
